I know this isn't in any way gaming related (Off-topic! Must...ban...myself!), but I thought I'd spark up some conversation here, and get some of your guys' reactions and/or comments.
As you all may have heard by now, Napster was ruled against in court yesterday, and has been ordered to shut down its services by Friday, July 28. They have appealed, and there will be a hearing in court today to determine whether or not Napster can remain online during the appeal process. I would put a bunch of links relating to the RIAA vs. Napster lawsuit, but I'm sure you've read them all (or all that you've ever wanted to).
Personally, killing Napster really won't bother me. Losing it would just be a slight inconvienence in the finding of my precious MP3s (which, thanks to Napster, I probably won't be needing any more of for a while). I know there are some diehard Napster fans out there, and I would like to hear from you (and also from those of you that despise it!) about what you think about all of this.
Napster urges all of it's users (the "Napster Community") to check it's website continuiously to get the latest on the lawsuit, and what you can do to help. After hearing this, a thought sparked into my half-empty mind: What if Napster began to charge its users a monthly fee? Now this may not happen, but it's a good question for debate. Would you pay, say, $5 per month to use Napster (assuming most of the payment goes to the artists as royalty)? I don't really think I'd do that, considering that I only use it about once every 2 months.
Anyways, I'd like to hear from everyone about this! Post your comments! http://www.fr3nsyc.net/ubb/smile.gif
