As a couple of you out there have websites that I host for you, take note of the following changes please:
1) UPGRADES
I will be upgrading the main RAID in the fuzzylinux.net (http://www.fuzzylinux.net) webserver which hosts most of your domains. I will also be upgrading the OS software to the latest version of RedHat Linux.
Since I will be doing an OS upgrade, there is always the chance of file corruptions and system incompatabilities, therefore!
It is imparative that you make a backup of your websites along with the SQL Databases!
If you need instructions on how to backup your websites SQL database, it's actually fairly easy. Just follow the instructions at this link to access your SQL data:
http://www.fuzzylinux.net/phpws/current/mod.php?mod=faq&op=show_answer&faq_id=11
The mail servers will not be changed, so no changes to mail settings are needed.
The official Date for the server upgrade is: AUGUST 3, 2002
So make sure you do your backups by them! That's this Saturday.
2) DNS
DNS is now 100% on my boxes. If you have any granitecanyon.com or zoneedit.com dns entries for your website, you must remove them from your main record. You can do this whatever company you signed up the domains with, register.com, jumpdomain.com, etc...
The new DNS entries should be as follows:
PRIMARY:
ns1.fuzzylinux.net
SECONDARY:
ns2.fuzzylinux.net
Remove:
ns1.granitecanyon.com, ns2.granitecanyon.com, ns3.zoneedit.com, as these DNS entries will no longer be allowed updates from the DNS Servers and if you leave them, your domain routing will break and people will sporadically not be able to access your domain.
3) Free Mail / Webmail access for your customers/friends/etc.
If you would like to setup free or pay mail/webmail for your clients, friends, etc, just contact me and I will get you setup so people can signup over the web for an account similar to this one:
FuzzyLinux Webmail SignUp (http://mail.fuzzylinux.net/cgi-bin/vqregister/vqregister.cgi)
Or you can always direct them to the [URL=http://www.fuzzylinux.net]FuzzyLinux Homepage[/URL
where they can get a free @fuzzylinux.net mail address with up to 20mb of storage, along with many other cool features :-)
That is all for now...
If you have any questions, give me a holler:
