who wrote the forms for this webpage? this doesnt have anything to do with cs, but i need to learn how to create forms, and this page is an excellent example of them. i was just wondering if any of the authors would be able to share any tips or even offer references to other webpages that would explain this to me.

If you'll look at the very bottom of each page related to this forum, you'll see the copyright of the company that made this. You may click the Infopop image to go to their website and look up information on this forum, the Ultimate Bulletin Board. Currently, I belive a 1-year license is going for about $200.

However, in due time, I will be switching to another message board system. Actually, although it has no influence on my decision, the Counter-Strike forums (http://forums.counter-strike.net) are using the exact system I am talking about. If your web hosting service supports PHP3 and SQL, this would be the thing to use. It is called VBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com) and runs just slightly cheaper than the UBB at about $160 for 1 year, and $30 every year after that.

Of course, that's quite a bit of money to be throwing at a message board, so there are also a ton of free ones out there you can use, as well. http://www.fr3nsyc.net/ubb/smile.gif

so the concept of being able to create my own stuff (not necessarily as advanced as a forum) is pretty rediculous and imposssible?

You can create anything you desire. All it takes is lots of time and determination.
