slughead (my friend) was trying to look at the pics and because he has a disabled computer (mac) he couldnt view that stuff. he took a closer look at the html and it looks like pastey put the slashes the wrong way when he wrote the pathnames... at least thats what slug said. it will work in ie but not netscape, unless pastey wants to change the slashes to forward slashes.

.. but anyways I use my PC fer games, and after playin games on windows all day it's nice to just move over to my other computer that actually doesn't freeze and fuck up every 10 seconds (what a concept!)...

.. well about that web page thing, the HTML was written wrong, all the images are like "3\MVC-023F.JPG" and the \ should be a / ..

what I did is simply take the existing HTML and do a find/replace in a text editor so I could quickly fix and view the page.

Also, for future reference, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT I HAVE A MAC!... just thought I'd make that clear

as I said in my post in the "LAN" topic, me and cheeseboy can write you up a web page that will "0wnx0r the gib50n" (as it were) if you guys'll agree to put it up.

Hear hear!!! virus, although i am slughead's friend, i agree with you 100000%!!!
i admit, mac's have some better hardware (in some cases) and blah blah blah, but the #1 reason i would NEVER buy a mac is that they just look so god damned FRUITY! i dare the world to come up with a computer that looks more gay than a macintosh.
and i hate gui's, which is all mac's have right now.
and i hate steve jobs.

I'm usin a CLI on my old mac from 1995 (an impossible task according to you, cheese) and it'll serve better than yer 1996+ (whenever) makeshift by about 4 fold..

When most [dumbasses] think of macs they think of fruity startup screens and blueberry-flavored imacs.. well I have niether and what's more, I'd pitch my g4 against any PC machine out there within the same price range (exept fer games heh)... And yes I'm including pentium 4's in that.

I don't expect even 1% of you to understand. No doubt you too have seen rectangular blue faces staring back at you from a mac and have been frightened and envious of it's power. But let us not fear what is different and more powerful.

As I said before, I do things other than games on my computer, also it's nice every once in a while to use a computer that doesn't freeze or have hardware conflicts. So naturally a mac is the best option out there for me.

Maybe when we all become unix based and are able to share the same.. well.. everything.. maybe then you will see and embrace the power which has been concealed in an innocent-looking translucent blue case and offered to you at a reasonable price.

In reality AMD will probably kill intel, P4s are pretty cool, however AMD's dual processor chip (2 processors on the same di) will 0wnx0r p4's.

Thing is, P4s JUST came out, like 1 or 2 weeks ago, AMD has yet to release its response, and similar to Geforce2 and voodoo (geforces being better and cheaper by MANY times), AMD will come out ahead in the end.

AMD may not be as good as P4s NOW, but 3 weeks ago they were better, not to mention, if I were in the market fer a new processor, I'd get 2 AMD's fer the price of 1 p4 and blow the p4 out of the water. Or I'd just wait until AMD releases their new shit and buy a better chip at a fraction of the cost.

Remember that this is, really, the first time Intel's had a formitable competitor. Remember how long it took for the P4's to come out after the p3's? like a fucking year (like 2 decades in computer years). AMD releases new, revolutionary chips every 1 or 2 months. Not to mention that AMD's are SUPER inexpensive in comparison, and that, in a market with almost no consumer loyalty, will mean death for intel.

Just cuz something has a secure place in the market doesn't mean it wont die. Look at MS, it used to have like 80% of the OS market, now it has what? 60? 55? and decreasing every day cuz of Linux and mac (which, believe it or not, are gaining).

People need to get off their high horse about these practical monopolies. 3dfx is goin down, intel's goin down, and MS will probably go down too (eventually).

Bill Gates said it himself, if a company, in this market, can't keep up, it will be bankrupt within 5 years.

3dfx released the voodoo 5 a month after their competitor (geforce2) released a card nearly twice as fast.
AMD and Intel are still neck and neck but I have a feeling AMD's new chips will not only beat the pentium 4, but stay in the lead at least until the p5 comes out (which it may not).
and MS? Ha! they haven't released anything good since windows 95 (the first GUI ever that could manage all the functions of the computer without using DOS, and also the first reasonably easy to use GUI to run on PCs). Windows 95 was released a long time ago (about 5 years by my 3r33t calculations), and 98 was simply full of bug fixes and some other useless crap, similar to windmill (windowsME). Linux (a FREE, STABLE OS), and maybe even mac will eat windows alive.

WindowsME blows chunks...I upgraded from 98 and damn i get an assload of problems! I can no longer alt-tab outta half life without a pain in the ass blue screen of death...I get so many crashed I can't believe they even released this POS.

If Linux was compatible with all of my games and at least my Video and sound cards, I would immediately switch...too bad I'll have to wait I guess.

BTW, where can I find a compatibility list for Linux?

hate to bring up an old topic, but slug, i just have to tell you WHY macs suck...
okay they used to have great floating point performance on their processors so graphics would zip along (what are you doing graphics for on a mac anyways when you can spend the same $$ and get a f'in SGI) compared to pcs... now... pcs beat the fuck outta any mac based processors, i dont give a rats ass about your backside cache... check out the intel xeons for god sake... they have up to 8mb (i think thats biggest backside intel offers) of backside just like your damn g4's ... and not only does it have more backside cache.. its more reliable, it has better floating point, and its made from a quality company... on to the company description now...

you all know who steve jobs is right? well if you dont hes in charge of mac liscensing and advertising (i may be missing a few things but these are the important things anyways)... licensing... lets seeeeee... how many companies do you know that you can buy mac parts from? what is that you say under your breath? 2? 3? and how many pc companies do you know that sell parts that go into ANY pc and arent incompatible because of some stupid capitalistic idea of unification? theres probably around 3 million pc distribution companies... horrible decision on steve jobs' part, he limited his manufacturing, he limited his distribution, and thus he limits his income and skrews over mac because they have "elite products" that are thus under researched because of the lack of income... woohooo... now on to advertising and decision making... you know those new cubes? those ones that were recently recalled??? &gt;=) well guess what steve jobs said when he was making those computers (errr doorstops)... quoth steve jobs "i dont like the sound of fans so i took them out," genius... pure genius... not to mention the nice heat activated power button that can be set off by a cup of joe on top of the computer... more genius...

what else... oh yes your operating system... well now... linux has some nice GUI's that will outperform, outfunction, and eat your goddamn mac os... those of us who prefer to use Win98 ... eh we're not missing much from mac-os.... usually we're in win98 for the games... oh oh and.. dont claim that you can emulate pcs better... dont make me bring up floating point performance again.. pc's emulate macs better than macs ...
